KWAS

When I created this piece, I wanted to capture the feeling of carrying both weight and light within myself. The two figures, one slightly larger, one smaller, represent the duality of my inner world, the fragile child I once was, and the protective self I’ve grown into. Their faces are marked with “X” eyes, a symbol of struggle, exhaustion, and silence, yet they stand tall, side by side, refusing to collapse.

The words, “Even in my darkest night, I am the sun,” are my declaration against despair. It’s a reminder that even when I feel consumed by shadows, there’s an unextinguished fire within me that no darkness can take away.

The rough strokes, the muted tones, and the raw, unfinished textures are intentional, they echo the imperfect, messy way we hold ourselves together. And yet, the figures stand, together, unbroken. This is not just art for me; it’s a mirror of resilience, a visual promise that no matter how heavy the night, I will always choose to burn.
