DO I DESERVE THIS?

This artwork is a dialogue between temptation and doubt. The two figures, identical yet fragile, lean against a bottle that towers over them. The bottle represents not just alcohol, but every form of indulgence we turn to when searching for escape, things we convince ourselves we “deserve” after pain, stress, or struggle.

The question “Do I deserve this?” isn’t about the drink itself, it’s about worth. Do we deserve comfort, even if it numbs us? Do we deserve pleasure, even if it poisons us slowly? Or do we deserve something deeper, something that heals instead of hides?

The figures, faceless and marked with crosses, stand in a state of conflict. One clings, the other questions. Together, they embody the inner war of craving versus conscience.

This piece is not about answers, it’s about sitting with the question. Sometimes, asking “Do I deserve this?” is the first step to finding what you truly do deserve.
